This machine

How does it feel?
To sit atop the world,
in all its beauty and ugliness?

This machine
can’t compute that.
This machine
can’t turn your money into anything good.

this poem is part of a series including http://agoodatheist.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/error-redo-from-start.html and http://agoodatheist.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/mechanics.html

  2. Oh I absolutely agree ... my grandfather used to have an expression "if money can fix it" it isn't a problem... meaning that things of value are no subject to the exigiences of commerce. I think I need to read more of the series to fully appreciate :)

  5. "This machine cant compute that". Awesome! Sadly, the machine of The System cant compute true value either, it would appear.

  8. Yes! It cannot, but the heights? I bet that still must be something--if one didn't have to trample people to get there. I admit I haven't read (or don't recall the otehr two poems. I'll be back.

  10. Money makes the world go around (remember that song)...people sell their souls for it...have done and will do forever. I don't suppose it helps living in a society where money is God.
