Another chance

Another chance at life,
to get it right this time,
to avoid the old mistakes,
to finally make you mine.

Another chance at love,
to treat you like a queen,
to worship you with words,
like diamonds in a stream.

Another chance to grow,
to be the one I should,
to end all the regret,
this time I know I could.

  1. You have expressed so well the concept that every year gives us a fresh start; and at the beginning of it we really don't know what the year will reveal to us.

    Nice to meet you!

  2. Diamonds in a stream - I like this thought of how to use your words! Sounds like you are on the right track if this chance is really a place you are at in your life right now!

  3. Wonderful poem of optimism and hope! I gasped in stanza 2 when the "What if it's hopeless?" question crossed my mind, but the final stanza put all the optimism in perspective. We only have control over ourselves. You say it so well:
    Another chance to grow,
to be the one I should,
    to end all the regret,
this time I know I could.

Once this is said, the year is half won!

  4. love the optimism and the "looking forward" but then you hook the reader in stanza 2 ... which promotes thought... we all have those little voices of doubt...
